Título: | PostgreSQL 'libpq' Security Bypass Vulnerability (Aug 2018) - Linux |
Resumen: | PostgreSQL is prone to a security bypass vulnerability. |
Descripción: | Summary: PostgreSQL is prone to a security bypass vulnerability. Vulnerability Insight: The flaw exists due to an internal issue in the 'libpq' the client connection API for PostgreSQL where it did not reset all of its connection state variables when attempting to reconnect. In particular, the state variable that determined whether or not a password is needed for a connection would not be reset. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation will allow an attacker to bypass client-side connection security features and obtain access to higher privileged connections or potentially cause other possible impact. Affected Software/OS: PostgreSQL versions before 10.5, 9.6.10, 9.5.14, 9.4.19 and 9.3.24. Solution: Update to version 10.5 or 9.6.10 or 9.5.14 or 9.4.19 or 9.3.24 or later. Please see the references for more information. CVSS Score: 6.0 CVSS Vector: AV:N/AC:M/Au:S/C:P/I:P/A:P |
