Description: | Summary: This host is installed with PIPI Player and is prone to buffer overflow vulnerability. Vulnerability Insight: The flaw is due to an error when processing the 'PlayURL()' and 'PlayURLWithLocalPlayer()' methods. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via an overly long string passed to the methods. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation will allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application. Affected Software/OS: PIPI Player version 2.8.0.0 Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
