Vulnerability Insight: The flaw is due to a 'Data from Faulting Address controls Code Flow' issue in Hex Editor in Notepad++. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation will allow user-assisted attackers to execute code via a crafted file. Affected Software/OS: Notepad++ version 7.3.3 (32-bit) with Hex Editor Plugin v0.9.5 on Windows. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
